CAKE DEBUT: For the Hospitalized & the Adorably Bored by Bernie McGovern

For the Hospitalized & the Adorably Bored is a collection of recent watercolors and drawings by Bernie McGovern. Inspired by the hospitalized students he teaches, these works take the form of impossible biology, dreamed video games, flaming figures, and space-faring kittens. Expect minimal resistance, boarding crews.

Bernie McGovern is a comics artist, puppet designer, animator, and teacher living in his native Chicago. His real-life adventures are documented in the self-published comic DemonDust, and his massive labor of love comic "An Army of Lovers will be Beaten" has been in the works for years. Illustrations appear in Lumpen Magazine and the Ragbag Writers Alliance. Puppet designs have appeared in shows by the House Theatre, the Hypocrites, Actors Theatre of Louisville, the Neo-Futurists, and Dog & Pony.
